Damn Good Beer from Denver to Colorado Springs
Colorado is known for giving good beer, and I recently road tripped through and was able to spend some time sipping and savoring. Here are a few of my favorite spots!
DENVER
Bierstadt Lagerhaus - With a hashtag like #Lagerhard you know they’re going all in. Their stunning slow pour pils has won the hearts of many a beer babe, and their German-inspired food menu (think: schnitzel and sausages with jäger sauce) is a perfect pairing. You can even stay the day and play their indoor yard games, too!
Our Mutual Friend (OMF) - Any spot with colorful murals always draws me in. Come for the award-winning Juicy Pale called Inner Light, stay for, well, any of their barrel aged stouts!
Cerebral Brewing - Their haze game knows no bounds, but their stouts are stunning, too. Definitely make a day of hanging at this dope Denver spot.
Cohesion Brewing - They’re doing all things Czech-inspired, proving once and for all that #foamisbeautiful. They have a dog-friendly patio and stunningly clean branding and interiors.
Trve Brewing - This heavy-metal themed brewery also resides in Asheville and they have some mixed culture beers to round out their clear beer collection.
COLORADO SPRINGS
Goat Patch - This brewery (that usually has a food truck) is in an old converted middle school and has two taproom areas plus an outdoor patio with mountain views. We loved the barleywine and their sour the most, and the bartenders nearly became our new best friends.
Red Leg Brewing - Set amongst the stunning mountain vistas of the Garden of the Gods, this place is a must-visit after your nature hike. They’ve got a huge bar and a veritable adult playground outside with several food vendors to choose from. Swoon.
Cerberus Brewing - From a hefe to a sour to all the IPAs in between, we tasted the rainbow at this laid-back brewery. Come hungry because I heard the food is good! Fave? You guessed it, the BBA barleywine!
