Some of the Best Beer in Nash

Some of the Best Beer in Nash

I spent a couple of months wandering Nashville and wanted to uncover more than just what the bustling Broadway had to offer.

Here’s your guide to some of the best beer and bars in the beautiful Music City!

Breweries
There are lots of breweries in the East Nashville area, some just a mile or two from one another. Here are some of my favorite spots with some of the tastiest brews!

Southern Grist - a classic Nashville spot with lots of range. Love their stouts and sours!

Barrique - Known for wild sours, I had some delish lagers and I am obsessed with their rum ba barleywine

Bearded Iris - We attended their anniversary party because Secret Bodega hosted me for lunch (check them out too and tell Jesse I said hi!) and definitely dug their lager and fruited sour.

Living Waters - a smaller batch brewery plus a coffee bar so it’s a hip place to come by with your laptop. They serve Secret Bodega breakfast burritos (iykyk) and are next to some cool vintage shops.

Marble Fox - Hopefully you can try their pilsners and if you’re lucky, they’ll have No Crust, their PB&J Ale. So so good! Tell them I sent you and look for my sticker on their wall.

Smith & Lentz - lots of pilsners + lagers, a large space and really good wood-fired pizza. Across from here is an amazing Mediterranean-inspired spot for brunch or dinner called Butcher & Bee.

New Heights - great vibes and service, tons of styles and range, I had an amazing barrel-aged barleywine here too

Tailgate - lots of styles to choose from plus pizza to boot - had an interesting sour and seltzer!

Other bars
It’s true that Broadway feels like Nashvegas, so it’s not for the faint of heart, but you have to visit at least once! There are many bachelorette parties, party buses, and woo girls wearing cowboy boots. But you’ll find some great live music and bars, too.

Bootleggers - Great live music and chill vibes in a smaller, more intimate spot

Goodnight Nash - Amazing large space with great music and tons of bar seats

Tootsies - A classic vintage Broadway bar experience - multiple floors with live music and a big rooftop

Hot Chicken
We did a hot chicken crawl and tasted the Nashville hot sandwich, tenders, and mac n cheese at Bolton’s, Hattie B’s, and Prince Street. Our fave was Prince Street but you cannot miss! Hattie B’s was a close second, especially their mac. (This tour was brought to you by Tums - lol.)

Things to Do
Definitely hit up a 90-minute live music show at The Listening Room Café! Tickets are ~$20. There’s a $15 f+b minimum: they have good food and lots of local craft beer as well as cocktails and N/A options.

We also loved escaping the city for a beautiful hike at Radnor Lake as well as a nice walk around the Parthenon at Centennial Park.
