Admit it - you’ve purchased beer just because of the can design. We’ve all done it. There’s no shame in judging a beer by its cover.

Increasingly, beer brands are looking for ways to refresh their branding and aesthetic. For instance, Cigar City launched their new look early last summer, just in time for their cans to reach us here in Chicago.

But a brand’s beauty only runs as deep as its designer.

One of the artists to watch is the one putting out can art and event posters for punk-inspired 350 Brewing in Tinley Park, IL.

I’m lucky enough to be friends with the artist himself, Creative Director Miguel Echemendia, or “Ech” to his friends. Check out his insta feed @ech_illustration for some super rad illustrations.

What are your favorite can designs coming out of Chicago and beyond?
