Untappd Brings Some of the Best Beer to San Diego

Everyone’s favorite check-in app for beer enthusiasts is heading to sunny San Diego for a day full of craft beer and live music.

The event takes place on October 1 and 2 at the home of the Padres - Petco Park. The Untappd Beer Festival offers three different sessions with unlimited samples. Attendees can “check-in” to each sample, mingle with other beer fanatics and meet brewers from all over the country.

Untappd will host a number of local, classic favorites like AleSmith, Firestone Walker, The Lost Abbey, Modern Times, Mikkeller and Pizza Port. Smaller fan favorites like North Park Brewing, Crowns & Hops and Abnormal Brewing will be there, too. And of course some newbies will be on the scene: Smooj and Solaris will be slinging pours as well.

What’s more, there are some big swingers from out of state coming through. Drekker and Great Notion will be in attendance, as well as some of my hometown and midwestern favorites, Marz Community Brewing and Untitled Art!

I’ve actually been on Untappd since 2011 (wow!) and haven’t attended one of their events before, so I can’t wait. I’m most excited to link up with a bunch of other beerstagram friends and try beers I otherwise wouldn’t have had an opportunity to sample.
