The Philly Brew Tour

The Philly Brew Tour

Those who know me know that I never turn down an opportunity to go to east, so when I was invited to join a group of beerstagrammers in Philadelphia for a long weekend, the answer was absolutely.

Who doesn’t love exploring new cities? Taking in the sights, the sounds, the energy of its people. Philly reminds me of my hometown of Chicago - it has that work-hard grit that’s perfectly balanced with friendly, down-to-earth hospitality and service with a smile. Oh, and great food.

As always, I left a little piece of my heart with this new-to-me city. Below is our itinerary for the weekend.

DAY ONE

Human Robot* - Super friendly service and a tasty Italian pils. Check out Poe’s Sandwich Joint inside the brewery for some of the best craft sandwiches I’ve had in a long time!

Frankford Hall Beer Garden - An amazing indoor/outdoor space. They serve traditional German beer, and I heard the food is tasty, too.

Punch Buggy Brewing - Friendly folks here - plus a vibrant, colorful patio. I enjoyed trying their refreshing black currant sour.

The Continental Mid-Town Restaurant* - Amazing service and a dope rooftop! I recommend the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, French onion soup dumplings and the Endless Summer cocktails. They also had Tröegs on draft!

Love City Brewing - Some of the group went here and I missed out because I went to dinner, but I’m including it as a brewery on the list for the weekend. The branding and interior look to be on point!

DAY TWO

Warwick Farm Brewing* - This is off the beaten path, but it’s a beautiful farm serving great beer - our whole group was drinking the delicious Juicy Pils. The Hillside Hazy and Margarita Shandy were also top picks!

Ten 7 Brewing - A very accommodating staff for our big group! They were kind enough to reserve the back room for us. The Sharkbite was tasty and they had a food truck on Saturday.

The Attic* - A vintage-y grandpa’s house feel inside and a gorgeous sun-soaked patio with great tunes outdoors. They were one of the few breweries with lots of variety and have even won at GABF for their brown. Would you believe me if I told you I had their hazy?

Independence Beer Garden - This 20,000 sq foot beer garden overlooks the Liberty Bell. I ordered the group a pitcher of Tröegs Sunshine Pils while we snacked on wings, fried pickles, tacos and fried chicken sandwiches.

As always, check out my highlights on Instagram for pics and more details!
