The Savagewood x Beer Babe Jess Beer for a Cause

The Savagewood x Beer Babe Jess Beer for a Cause

I had the opportunity to embark on a collaborative effort with small, family- and diversely-owned Savagewood Brewing in San Diego, California.

The Savagewood team and I decided to use our platforms to help amplify women’s voices in the beer industry - and beyond - in honor of Women’s Month. And, what’s more, we decided to brew a beautiful beer for a cause.

From recipe ideas to naming and design, I was able to concept this project out from start to fruity, hoppy finish. We brewed Pouring it Forward, a Raspberry Ale with hops from the Pink Boots Society - and donated a portion of the proceeds to the Big Sister League in San Diego.

Big Sister League of San Diego is a nonprofit organization providing transitional and permanent supportive housing for adult women. Their services are designed to assist women affected by mental health issues, homelessness, trauma and domestic abuse. We were honored to host the women who work for BSL at the can release, where 20% of pre-sales and the day’s sales were donated to help women in need.

This beer was brewed in honor of women everywhere - in hopes they feel seen and supported. And in hopes that others will keep Pouring it Forward.
