Phase Three Brewing Officially Opens Their Taproom

Phase Three Brewing Officially Opens Their Taproom

In spring of 2019, award-winning brewer Shaun Berns launched his third act, Phase Three Brewing, along with his wife Brittany and friend Evan Morris.

Known for his time spent working at RAM Restaurant & Brewery and More Brewing, Shaun was ready for the next phase—and has seen loads of success along the way. Phase Three has quickly risen through the ranks and become Chicagoland’s darling, known and loved for their hazy IPAs and imperial stouts.

After spending some time contract brewing at Lake Zurich Brewing Company, Phase Three took over the space, and has since used the extra room to brew an array of different styles like West Coast IPAs, pilsners and fruited sours. These days, their beer cans barely make it to store shelves before getting scooped up by fans across Chicagoland.

What’s more, this summer, the Phase Three crew began hosting guests in their outdoor beer garden while work began on their taproom. And now, they’ve opened their doors officially, with plans to expand their barrel and cooler space even further.

Inside the taproom, a beautiful white marble bar with gold accents complements the forest green paint and their notable hummingbird logo, designed by Brittany, who also designs their can art.

For some behind the scenes snaps from the big opening day, check out my highlights here.
